Walk with me.

Sometimes you just need to walk.

Sometimes life gets too overwhelming and you just need take a few minutes to yourself and just simply walk.

Bare with me for a minute…if you feel like you are at a loss, if you feel like there is a pit in your throat and you’re on the verge of tears, if you feel like life is just too much, if you’re feeling stressed, or if you feel like you just need to breathe…put on some shoes, any shoes will do, and take off on a walk.

Your favorite music is definitely a bonus, but not necessary.

Good scenery is also a bonus but again, not necessary.

Take a moment to feel the warmth of the sunshine on your skin, the breeze blowing through your hair, the ground beneath your feet, smell the fresh cut grass, the blooming flowers, listen to the neighborhood kids playing in the yard, the birds chirping…take it all in.

Lift your head up from your phone, take a good long look at everything around you, the trees, the grass, the cars, the houses, the sun, the birds. When is the last time you truly opened your eyes and recognized how amazing this life is, how incredible is it that the sun rises everyday and we are alive and breathing?! Remove the negativity from your mind, focus on all that is good. Appreciate the simple things, for it is the small things that create the big, beautiful picture.

Let nothing else cloud your mind but placing one foot in front of the other.

Just let yourself simply be.

Even if for only 5 to 10 minutes. Walk out the frustration, walk out the stress, walk out the anxiety, walk out everything that is keeping you from being the best version of yourself, everything that is weighing you down, everything that is limiting your extraordinary potential.

If nothing else, let a walk be your calm, your time of peace, a moment to unwind.

Some of the best things that have ever happened to me have started with a walk.

For me, walking off my anxiety , my frustration, my fear of the unknown, my need to control led me to stepping into God’s plan for my life, trusting that His way was far greater than mine, allowing his love and light to true guide me.

Just as the journey to anxiety, fear, frustration and overwhelm doesn’t happen all at once…neither does the journey to peace and understanding…

But one step can truly lead to everything…

I think so many of us search for the quick fix or we expect a monumental moment that changes everything.

But the truth is, it takes time, time we feel like we don’t have, time we aren’t prepared for, little changes everyday to get us closer to the level of peace we so desire…but in order for change to happen we have to keep moving – keep walking – one foot in front of the other.

So will you walk with me? Let’s walk together.

When you are feeling stressed, anxious, worried, overwhelmed…take a walk and share it with me. I would love to see the beauty in your day, your silver lining. #walkwithme
