By definition, the Daniel Fast requires eliminating commonly enjoyed foods for 21 days as an act of worship and drawing yourself closer to God.
The prophet Daniel chose to undergo a partial fast when he sought the Lord and his fasting experiences form the basis of the Daniel Fast.
It is an opportunity to pull yourself away from life’s distractions and focus on your Lord and Savior to be strengthened, refreshed and renewed!
The Daniel Fast restricts foods including; dairy, meat, sugar and sweeteners, yeast, refined and processed foods, deep fried foods, solid fats, alcohol, caffeine, coffee, tea.
Yes…I said coffee. (Pray for me).
Ever since giving my life to Christ in January of 2020 I have seen God move so miraculously in my life and make a home at the center of my heart. I have grown in faith in ways I could have never imagined. He has made a way for me when there seemed to be know way, and he is transforming my life with his grace.
Fasting has been on my heart for a while now and I have always found an excuse. It wasn’t the right time, I was breastfeeding, etc. But the truth is…I was afraid to release control. Control over the things I love and the things that bring me joy. And that is exactly the point of this fast and the truth is; it’s the perfect time. I am hungrier than ever to dig deeper into the word of God, to open myself up to whatever He wants to do in my life, to reveal the areas I need to work on, to spend more time in intentionally prayer for my family and loved ones and to worship Him for all He has done and will continue to do in my life.
